I am Sr. Mary Anthony! I am a sister of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Our mission is to spread the love of God to others especially through service to families.
I have been a sister for over 21 years. I was born in Massachusetts; sometimes you can tell by the way I pronounce words. Most of my family lives in Massachusetts with the exception of my older sister who lives in Virginia. Every summer I go home to Cape Cod and spend time together with my family. The Cape is my serenity place and my family is a solid support for me. Family is very important to me. I believe family and God are the cornerstones to life. That is why I chose the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth as a community.
I enjoy teaching! I have been teaching for the past 26 years. I have taught in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York and Pennsylvania. I have taught pre-school to College in very diverse settings. Here in PA I have taught at St. Katherine of Siena Elementary School and Nazareth Academy High School.
I received a Bachelors of Arts from North Adams State College in Massachusetts, graduating with Early Childhood / Elementary Education and minoring in Deaf Education and Special Education. I earned a Masters in Theology from LaSalle University right here in Pennsylvania.
I love people and helping anyone I am able to. I believe we are called to serve. All we have to do is open our eyes and ask, what can I do? Then do it! Some other things I enjoy are the outdoors. I like to ski, go for a hike, or just sit and relax on a beach. I love to travel, meeting new people and visiting new places.
This is my second year at Christ the King, and I am very happy to be here. I am looking forward to teaching eighth grade this year.
